At Washington Our Home, we want to see every museum, cultural center, and heritage organization succeed. From 2019-2022, we offered communications consulting services to these organizations (sometimes for free!) to help promote these assets in our great state.
We worked face to face with community organizations to determine their most immediate needs, mid-range objectives, and long-term goals. In many cases, we were able to provide them with communications and marketing assistance, strategic planning, grant writing, logo design, local history curriculum, social media strategy, and media relations assistance. Washington Our Home enjoyed helping cultural community organizations reach a larger and more diverse audience while generating new heritage tourism dollars in local economies.

Recently discovered your podcast and I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing more! I really enjoy Washington state history (because it’s mine), as well as your emphasis on understanding the perception of the people at the time. Thank you!
Thank you for your masterful work on the grant. The quick turnaround was key, and it made it possible for us to apply. In addition to your superb writing skills, I appreciated your ideas and hope to follow up on more!
Thank you, Erich! It was soon good to meet with you and talk, and I really enjoyed your podcast workshop.
Thank you so much for bringing your program to the ZOOM meeting for Chapter CZ, PEO, last week. It is a remarkable book on a remarkable and almost unbelievable story, and we enjoyed your presentation very much (even though we grimaced at the grisly, tragic history of a true event). The artwork was amazing and so perfect for your book. Thank you again for sharing that time with us. We all learned something new!
Your talk was well received, and I, for one, immediately purchased your book. Thank you so much for such an informative presentation!
Thank you so much for sharing a bit of history and a couple of local history buffs with the rest of us. Great job!
We’ve enjoyed learning about WA state. Our fearless host has a wonderful style of delivering the interesting stories he chooses to tell. Really hoping for more episodes.
I really liked how much information was given in the DIY Marketing and Communications for Small Businesses course from South Puget Sound Community College. Erich was able to provide some great insight from his personal experiences as well, which was really helpful. Useful info for someone just starting a business, especially the first day’s content. I appreciated his “quizzes” at the end of each section!
They were so engaged in listening and several said afterwards that they really enjoyed it. I’m sure in person would be even better. I’m not kidding about having you come a couple times next year.
Ok, I’ll admit it – history was never my favorite subject. Since I moved to, and fell in love with, Washington State I found myself curious about all the little towns and ghost towns, and the explorers and settlers that trekked all the way to the farthest northwest corner of this beautiful country. The history I read in books was too much like the standard dry history from my school days, until….”Washington Our Home“! My “Fearless Field Guide”, Erich, is funny, entertaining, and knows his Washington State History. You can tell that he loves this state, and shares his interest with anyone who will listen. And listen you should. You won’t be disappointed, and you may just learn something new without going back to school!
Very interesting and well done! Please make more!! 🙂
Working with Mr. Ebel on location was a wonderful experience. His interviewing techniques are sensitive to the subject matter. He has a talent to bring insights into subjects which the person being interviewed may gain from. Mr. Ebel listens and hears the subject matter and captures it on film. When filming Stella’s Remnants of the Past, Mr. Ebel captured not only the past through the pictures of our past, but also captured the present-day Stella and its community. Mr. Ebel is a valued talent in helping bring life to history in Washington State.
This speaker was AWESOME! He got a lot of compliments from guests following the History Pub. And we’ve been contacted by guests, since the event, asking where they can see him next. Everyone loved him!
Erich from Washington Our Home produced several short films for Cowlitz County focusing on local history. His production quality was that of any you would expect from a documentary you would see on PBS or other educational programming. He is thoughtful, professional, innovative, and worked well with our staff on shooting footage at the Cowlitz County Historical Museum. One of his films focused on our education programs offered to local schools which will help us market and grow the program. We were very happy with the end product and look forward to working with him again in the future.
I just discovered your podcast the other day and I love it! Listened to them all while working in my shop and I plan to go back to catch some of the details I may have missed while the grinders and saws were running. Please keep the content coming! I moved to WA about four years ago and love learning about this great state. I live in South Kitsap county and would love to hear some history and stories of things in this area. Thanks for doing what you are doing!
The Ryderwood History Project is very pleased with the professional videography services that Erich Ebel of Washington Our Home provided for Ryderwood’s 2019 Long-Bell Old-Timers Reunion in August 2019. Erich, who had never heard of Ryderwood before an earlier presentation at the Cowlitz County Historic Museum, did his homework and he and his wife spent all day recording the events. The finished product was very well edited and narrated, and we look forward to working with Erich in the future.
