The Evergreen Sportsman’s Club near Littlerock

Evergreen Sportsman's Club logoThe Evergreen Sportsman’s Club bills itself as the west coast’s premiere shooting facility. While I can’t confirm that (come on, the entire west coast of the United States? Really?), it does boast 36 trap fields, hosts several 2 and 3-day shoots throughout the year, and has one of the nicest range masters you’ll ever come across. They also host the annual Washington State Championships and the PITA Grand Pacific Championships – each drawing a thousand or more shooters from the USA and Canada.

In addition, they offer 153 RV hookups, complete with electrical and water service, have acres of dry-camp area, a dump station and a shower house. Dave Whitmore and I headed out there one Saturday morning to blow off some steam. And some ammunition.

About Washington Our Home

My name is Erich Ebel and I love this state. I’ve lived on the green side as well as the brown side. I’ve navigated the rivers and climbed the mountains. I’ve fished its lakes, hiked its trails, marveled at its geology, and studied its fascinating, storied history. I’ve spent the past ten years discovering and sharing stories about Washington’s history, heritage, and culture. My blog, videos, and podcasts hold a treasure trove of interesting facts, unknown facets, and fascinating tales that help to educate the general public about the privileges of being in Washington. I’m the current chair of the City of Lacey Historical Commission, and previously served as Marketing and Communications Director for the Washington State Historical Society and Museum. I’ve been a board member for the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation, and the History Insider for Scenic Washington magazine.

  1. Thanks for commenting, Jim!

I’m definitely going to be coming back to your facility, and probably bringing my wife and friends too. Let me know when you guys are having promotions or events and I’ll post something about it in my blog to help spread the word!

    Thanks for reading,

  2. I think that this is what every club needs. If everyone knew the requirements of each club and the shooting rules, it may change some minds. To answer the question of the shooting on the club grounds, I will tell you that this is the one place that everything is protected. Yes, everything. We do shoot at a lot of targets on our grounds. We have Rifle, Pistol, Archery, Black Powder, Sporting Clays, Skeet, Five Stand, and Trap. Come out and enjoy our facility for yourself. We will be having the Cabalas Family Days this year. I will tell you that we have Deer, Wild Turkeys, Quail, etc. on our property. No one is allowed to shoot or harass the animals. We also have the Equestrians and 4-wheel ATV people use our club. This is a facility that tries to use our club grounds to promote the outdoors for everyone. If you would like to come out and look, please do so. We would like for everyone to have the chance to enjoy the outdoors as they were intended to be enjoyed.
